Postdoc - Food Colloids/Bacterial Pickering stabilization
Department of Food Science (Frederiksberg), Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen, invites applications for a position as Post Doc from 1 February 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The Post Doc will mainly perform interdisciplinary research between the areas of food colloids, food soft matter (emulsions and foams and the like) and microbiology by developing new colloidal structures using lactic acid bacteria as colloidal building blocks and Pickering particles. The work will involve development of emulsions, foams and oleogels for future use as food materials and delivery vehicles for probiotics. The Post Doc is expected to collaborate closely with another, more microbiologically-based, Post Doc within the same project. Furthermore, the position will involve teaching duties at BSc, MSc and PhD-level.

The Department of Food Science, University of Copenhagen, is recognized for excellence in food research, food science education, and industry collaboration. It covers all disciplines of food science from raw materials to processing and consumption, and is organized in four sections, one of which is the section for “Ingredient and Dairy Technology”, where the position is placed. The Department has approx. 170 employees and 550-600 students in bachelor and master programs. The master programmes are all taught in English.
