Postdoc position in primary cilia and molecular basis of ciliopathies

A 17 months postdoctoral position is available from 1 April 2019 at the Section for Cell Biology and Physiology, Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen. The successful candidate will take part in a research project headed by Lotte B. Pedersen, funded by the Independent Research Fund Denmark. The overall aim of the project is to characterize the interactome of centrosomal protein CEP78, and investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying a new deaf-blindness ciliopathy caused by specific mutations in the CEP78 gene. 


Applicants should have experience with mammalian cell culture and molecular, biochemical and microscopic techniques. Prior experience in cilia and centrosome biology is an advantage, but not a requirement. The postdoc’s duties will include research within cilia and centrosome biology as well as teaching and student supervision. The post may also include performance of other duties.

Terms of employment 

The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.  


Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.  


The starting salary is currently up to DKK 426.625 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 72.952). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
