Department of Biology Trent University invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in the field of Fish Ecology in the Department of Biology, at the rank of Assistant Professor, to start January 1, 2020. A completed Ph.D. and relevant teaching experience are required. The successful candidate is expected to have a demonstrated research record with the ability to secure external funding. Ideally, the successful candidate will take advantage of Trent’s location near abundant lakes and rivers for teaching and fieldbased research. The successful candidate will also enhance collaborations with existing members in the Department of Biology ( and in the aquatic research branch of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry ( candidate will be a member of the Environmental and Life Sciences Graduate Program ( and/or the Bioenvironmental Monitoring and Assessment Graduate Program (, and continue Trent’s legacy as a leader in field research in aquatic science. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in the Department of Biology. These may include Foundations of Biodiversity, Introductory Ecology or Advanced Ecology, Fish Ecology, River and Stream Biology and Vertebrate Biology.
