The Section of Clinical Genetics & Metabolism is seeking a full-time Instructor/Fellow.

Job Summary:

The program is designed to provide a broad education in the clinical and laboratory aspects of cytogenetics, molecular genetics, and genetics.  The training site for the cytogenetic rotations is the Colorado Genetics Laboratory (CGL), located at Bioscience 2 on Anschutz Medical Campus, while the training site for the molecular genetics rotations will take place at the Molecular Genetics Laboratory at Children's Hospital Colorado, also on the Anschutz Medical Campus. Some rotations will occur in the General Genetics clinic, multiple subspecialty clinics, and the Inherited Metabolic Diseases clinic at The Children's Hospital, and the Biochemical Genetics on the laboratory at Children's Hospital. 


Nature of Work: 

The program is designed to provide a broad education in the clinical and laboratory aspects of cytogenetics, molecular genetics, and genetics.  The training site for the cytogenetic rotations is the Colorado Genetics Laboratory (CGL), located at Bioscience 2 on Anschutz Medical Campus, while the training site for the molecular genetics rotations will take place at the Molecular Genetics Laboratory at Children's Hospital Colorado, also on the Anschutz Medical Campus. Examples of Work Performed:

Molecular and cytogenetic genetic testing
Performing quality assurance in the laboratories
Participate in report writing and educational lectures and conferences
Successful completion of a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
At least one year of post-doctoral work in the same fields.

Salary and Benefits:

Hiring salary has been established as $54,228

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Successful completion of a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

At least one year of post-doctoral work in the same fields.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Two or more years of post-doctoral work in the same fields
Evidence of Peer-reviewed publications
