Job description


The School of Life Sciences is at the forefront of research in the biological sciences in the UK, coming in the top 10 in the REF 2014.


We are seeking to recruit a solely education focused Lecturer to teach undergraduate level Biomedical Science as part of the Biochemistry and Biomedicine Subject group. The post requires expertise in the successful delivery of teaching and learning in a range of formats including lectures, seminars, workshops and practical sessions. The post-holder would be expected to employ innovative assessment methods and to contribute to the quality control of teaching.


The role would suit those with broad experience of Biomedical Science, particularly in the areas of anatomy, haematology and medical microbiology, who wish to work as part of a dynamic teaching and learning team. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the development of the successful Biomedical Science degree by maintaining an understanding of developments in the area and using a range of established and innovative teaching/assessment methods as appropriate. A further important aspect of the role is to identify, employ and promote pedagogic best practice and excellence in education within the School to improve the student experience.
