Our laboratory focuses on the regulation of transcription factors involved in the activation of gene expression following pathogen attack. The postgraduate thesis deals with the redundant transcription factors TGA1 and TGA4, the lack of which leads to increased susceptibility to biotrophic pathogens. Since both factors are particularly strongly expressed in the root, the question should be answered, which function they have there concrete. Modern molecular and biochemical methods are used. The project is integrated into an international graduate school with the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, and is conducted in close collaboration with two Canadian working groups.
