Job description The PhD project will investigate how seismic activity and oxidative stress affect subsurface microbial and viral communities. For this position you have a strong background in either geobiology, environmental microbiology and/or computational biology (or related subjects) and are interested in microbial evolution and extreme environments. This project includes experimental and computational components including microbial enrichment experiments, underground field experiments at the Bedretto Underground Lab's Deep Life Observatory and metagenomic/metatranscriptomic/metaproteomic analysis. Salary and general working conditions will be consistent with ETH standards.
