The Institute for Biochemistry is offering a PhD position in the field of Ion Transport & Signaling / Andrade Lab
DescriptionWe are looking for highly qualified and motivated students to become doctoral researchers in our team. Selected candidates will benefit from close interactions with the Research Training Group on “Transport Across and Into Membranes” (RTG-2202 see: https://www.taim.uni-freiburg.de) and the Spemann Graduate School of Biology and Medicine (SGBM see: https://www.sgbm.uni-freiburg.de). In brief, our team is interested in the molecular functional details of ammonium transport and ammonium sensing mediated by the ubiquitous integral membrane proteins of the Amt/Mep/Rhesus family. Typically, we isolate and study these proteins in controlled systems using electrophysiology, spectroscopy and various structural techniques. To discuss further details, please contact us!
