Salary: 45,000.00/year plus benefits   


The Yang laboratory at the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to study neural stem cell biology. The projects will involve utilizing genetic and imaging tools to dissect the mechanisms of stem cell maintenance and neuronal fate specification. Individuals will participate in studies that include, but are not limited to, using transgenic mice to understand the translational regulation of neural stem cells during brain development. Another potential avenue of research will involve studying the mechanisms that mediate the effects of genetic and/or environmental risk factors for neurodevelopmental disorders.

A PhD degree in cell biology, developmental biology, or a related field is preferred. Applicants must have prior experience with standard technologies of stem cell and molecular biology. Expertise in genome editing, differential gene expression analysis of high-throughput sequencing data or research related to mouse modeling of human diseases would be highly desirable. First author publications in these fields are an asset. The candidate must be self¿motivated, highly independent, and have excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills. The position is available immediately, but starting date is negotiable.
