Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Mass Spectrometry-Based Proteomics Monash University, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Australia

Postdoctoral Research Fellow - Mass Spectrometry-Based Proteomics

Job No.: 593968

Location: Clayton campus

Employment Type: Full-time

Duration: 3 year fixed-term appointment

Remuneration: $68,040 - $92,343 pa Level A (plus 17% employer superannuation)

The Opportunity

The Signalling Network Laboratory in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Monash University aims to identify novel therapeutic targets and biomarkers for particular poor prognosis human cancers, including triple negative breast cancer, prostate and gastric cancer, through an integrated strategy that combines mass spectrometry-based proteomics with bioinformatics, computational biology and functional genomics.

We invite Expressions of Interest for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position that will utilise mass spectrometry-based phosphoproteomic and kinomic profiling workflows and associated bioinformatic approaches to characterise cancer signalling networks, with the goal of identifying novel therapeutic targets and biomarkers. It will involve use of established workflows, as well as development of novel ones for interrogation of non-canonical phosphorylation events, and analysis of patient specimens. The Fellow will also contribute to the functional characterisation of lead candidates emanating from these studies.

Established expertise in mass spectrometry-based (phospho) proteomics is essential, with the ability to analyse large datasets using appropriate bioinformatics techniques is desirable. Knowledge and experience in cell biology and signalling is also desirable.

A doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline or a closely related field is required.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

At Monash University, we are committed to being a Child Safe organisation. Some positions at the University will require the incumbent to hold a valid Working with Children Check.

Your application must address the selection criteria. Please refer to "How to apply for Monash Jobs".
