In DynaMo (, we take a pathway-centric approach to understand molecular processes enabling the plant to respond and adapt to the ever-changing environment. We have a vibrant research environment with excellent opportunities for the young scientists to advance their competences in multiple directions.

Project description
Plants greatly rely on their root microbiome for uptake of nutrients and protection against stresses, but our understanding at the molecular/mechanistic level of what shapes the interaction is limited. In this project, our goal is to understand the underlying molecular mechanism by which plants select microbial traits as well as the physiological significance of the establishment of these (beneficial) interaction.

Job description

We are currently looking for a Research Assistant to assist us in our work aimed at deciphering the mechanism of plant microbe interactions in our model system for improving plant health and nutrition. The person will have a great opportunity to advance his/her basic research skills. The tasks will be diverse and include:

  • Screening and identification of beneficial microorganisms for nutrient delivery in selected soils

  • Screening chemical cues for establishment of beneficial plant-microbe interaction

  • Plant growth assays under various conditions and using mutants

  • Mechanistic studies with Arabidopsis mutants
