PhD Student / Research Assistant (100% E13 TV-L),

Probably to 01.01.2021 we are looking for a scientific assistant (m/f) at the new department of food informatics (150l). Pay group EG 13 TV-L, with a weekly working time of 39.5 hours (100%).

We are looking for a research assistant (100% E13 TV-L), m/f/d at the university institution FG Lebensmittelinformatik (150l) at the Institute of Food Science and Biotechnology (150), salary group EG 13 TV-L, with a weekly working time of 39.5 hours.

The position is limited to 3 years with the option of extension. The place of employment is Fruwirthstraße 21, 70599 Stuttgart.

We expect you to be involved in research and teaching in the field of food informatics and/or smart health. Therefore, you should be qualified in computer science. Possible focal points of the tasks are in the areas of data mining/data analytics, optimization methods and software engineering for adaptive systems. Knowledge in the use of digital technologies for food production systems / Industry 4.0 is an advantage, but not mandatory.

Your profile:

- A university degree (university diploma or master's degree) with above-average grades in a discipline related to computer science or corresponding knowledge of ICT
- Knowledge in relevant programming languages, e.g. Python or Java, and common machine learning frameworks
- Ability to communicate complex issues clearly in German and English, to think ahead and to act with foresight
- Reliable, conscientious and structured work, initiative, commitment and team orientation
- Scientific curiosity, willingness to learn and communication skills.
