We seek an outstanding candidate for a Bioinformatician position funded by a Cancer Research UK Programme awarded to Professor Stephen Taylor. The post will support on-going projects studying mitosis, MYC and novel drugs  in the context of ovarian cancer (Topham et al (2015) Cancer Cell 28 129-40; Pillay et al (2019) Cancer Cell 35 519-533) and involves analysing high-throughput sequencing experiments (RNA-seq, DNA-seq) and single-cell experiments (10X and iCELL8 platforms). You will join a well funded and productive research group (see www.bub1.com) located in the Oglesby Cancer Research Building, which provides state-of-the-art physical space, a stimulating intellectual environment, and access to first-rate core facilities.

You will have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline and must have a good working knowledge of high-throughput sequencing data analysis methods. Experience of programming in a language relevant for Bioinformatics is essential (e.g. R, Python, C/C++ or Java) as are good communication skills. Candidates with strong statistical and/or web portal development skills are particularly encouraged to apply.

The position is available from 1 September 2019 for one year with a possibility to renew for a further 2.
