Duties and Responsibilities
A bright and motivated post-doctoral researcher is required to join a team studying gene expression dynamics during development and reprogramming. This will involve working independently and together with the PI and members of the team with computational experience in carrying out research in this and related areas.They will be expected to intelligently manage their own project and support the work of others in the group, including training and supervision of PhD  and undergraduate students, contributing to essential tasks in the day to day management of the lab, presenting their work at regular group meetings, acquiring reagents and advice from colleagues in the department and beyond, keeping up to date with the relevant literature and integrating this into their work and writing and editing scientific papers and grants.
Key Requirements

Candidates are expected to be exceptional, highly motivated scientists with a strong track record of research in a relevant area of the life sciences. We will also consider applicants with a PhD in physics or engineering with a strong interest in biology.

The position is available to start from 1st November 2019 until 31st October 2021 initially. The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7, with a starting salary on Grade 7 of £35,328 to £42,701  inclusive per annum. If the PhD has not yet been awarded, the appointment will be made at Research Assistant Grade 6B  (salary £30,922 - £32,607 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.
