Are you an expert in the field of pesticides and do you want to apply your passion for safe and healthy food, feed and the environment as a researcher and project leader at Wageningen Food Safety Research? Are you a person who can carry through a project from the idea up to the final deliverable while guiding lab staff and handling customer needs? As a researcher and project leader in the field of pesticides you will:

  • Conduct research and applied monitoring projects from the project idea up to the final deliverable
  • Guide lab staff with your technical and chemical expertise and ensure high quality execution of the projects
  • Collaborate with colleagues to process and summarize research outcomes into partial or full reports, publications and presentations for our customers
  • Contribute to acquisition by initiating and contributing to the authoring of research proposals (including public-private partnerships and other national or international proposals)
  • Contribute to shaping and further developing the future of pesticide analysis at WFSR together with our experts, your external network and our customers
  • Be embedded in a young, ambitious and international team of professionals, who enjoy their work at WFSR.

We ask

  • An ambitious colleague who has strong persuasive powers, is enterprising and is quality minded;
  • You have gained profound expertise (at least 5 years) in the field of pesticide analysis;
  • You have several years’ worth of experience in working on and preferably leading multidisciplinary research projects within the food/feed sector;
  • You possess the ability to communicate with both clients and members of your own organization at all levels;
  • You have completed a PhD, preferably postdoc, in a relevant professional field and you are interested in analytical chemistry;
  • You have good verbal and written command of Dutch and English. If you only speak English, you are prepared to learn Dutch;
  • Possession of a network within the pesticide analysis field is an advantage.

We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between € 2.790,- and € 5.183,- for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 10 or 11).
