Cvijovic lab belongs to the Division of Applied Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics, working in the area of systems biology. The focus of our group is on the development of mathematical models to better understand biological processes related to ageing in unicellular organisms.  The work is highly interdisciplinary with close collaboration with a number experimental research groups in other areas.

Job assignments

The successful candidate will predominantly work on development bulk-surface type of models of cell polarization and its impact on replicative ageing in budding yeast.

Qualifications

Ph.D in Applied Mathematics or a foreign degree corresponding to a Ph.D. in a subject area relevant for the position. The successful candidate is expected to be at ease collaborating with other scientists within a larger team with high capacity to organize and lead projects. Documented experience (e.g in publications) in reaction-diffusion and bulk-surface models as well as model development, analysis, selection and simulations and yeast systems biology is required. Large emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Fluency in English is expected as well as experience at working in interdisciplinary teams.
