JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The candidate will primarily be responsible to lead / conduct research
and provide consultancy services related to Food Technology including method
development, improvement studies and sensory analysis. He/She will be engaged
in the curation and delivery of training programmes to the industry related Food
Technology as well as student training. He/She should demonstrate capabilities
as a Program / Project Manager to provide technical direction and mentorship within
the department as an expert in the area.
 
• Apply scientific principles in research, development, production technology, quality control, packaging, processing, and utilization of foods
• Conducts advanced research, and new product research and development of foods
• Develop new and improved methods and systems for food processing, production, quality control, packaging, and distribution
• Study methods to improve quality of foods, such as flavor, color, texture, convenience, or physical, chemical, and microbiological composition of foods
• Plan and implement sensory analysis projects
• May specialize in particular branch of food technology and be identified according to branch of food technology, but have adequate knowledge about other branches
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
 
1) Qualification in Food Technology/Food Processing/related areas with minimum 5-7 years of experience in the industry
2) Proven track record of leadership, working on industry-driven projects
3) Excellent communication skills, with demonstrated diplomacy in building strong relationships with different stakeholders
4) An innovative mindset in discovery, evaluation, and application of new technologies in food/process research and development.
5) Excellent understanding of R&D and operations in Food Technology
6) Resourceful team player who is able to work independently to meet deadlines and achieve deliverables
7) Experience in writing grants will be an added advantage
