Lecturer Below the Bar in Biomedical Engineering, Fixed Term
The new appointee will be required to contribute strongly to the teaching, undergraduate and postgraduate student supervision, and administration activities of the Discipline of Biomedical Engineering and the College. Primary teaching responsibilities may be in the areas of the fundamentals of biomedical engineering, materials engineering, engineering computing, and medical device design and development. Of particular importance will be contributions to the development of postgraduate taught programmes delivered by the Discipline of Biomedical Engineering.
The new appointee is also expected to initiate a new, or develop an existing, independent research programme in Biomedical Engineering, working with colleagues across the University, including the attraction of R&D funding and the dissemination of their work through peer-reviewed journals conferences and workshops. Candidates with research expertise in the areas of medical implant and device analysis and design, or cell and tissue mechanics and mechanobiology, would be particularly welcome.

Salary: €37,979 p.a. to €58,944 p.a.
(This appointment will be made on the Lecturer Fixed Term scale in line with current Government pay policy). (For pre 1995 public sector entrants in Ireland, the D class Salary rates will apply)
