Emory University’s Oxford College seeks candidates for a one year, full-time, adjunct assistant professor position in Biology beginning August 2023. Oxford College is located 36 miles east of Atlanta on the original campus of the university in Oxford, Georgia. Oxford’s state-of-the-art science facility, which opened in 2016, is designed to promote student-faculty collaboration, scholarship, and innovative teaching in STEM. This position offers a great opportunity for candidates seeking teaching experience at a primarily undergraduate campus.
Each semester, the successful candidate will teach two lecture sections and the accompanying laboratories of the second course in our two-course introductory biology sequence for majors, with a focus on genetics and molecular biology.
Qualifications: Required - The minimum required qualification is a Masters Degree in biology or subdiscipline or 18 hours of graduate credit coursework in biology, including subdisciplines.
Desirable – A Ph.D. in biology or a sub-discipline, completed by August 2023. Candidates with some prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level and experience with genetics and molecular biology in teaching or research are a plus.
