Project Faculty Position on “;Ecological Diversity”; Masters Program in Biodiversity National Taiwan University

Content 1.The Master’s Program in Biodiversity (MPB) at National Taiwan University invites applicants for one Project Faculty (Assistant Professor or above), starting from August 1, 2021. A doctoral degree and capability of teaching in English are required. The successful candidate is expected to teach 16 hours a week and shall be able to teach following both levels: (1) graduate level courses in the areas of “Bio-cultural diversity, sustainability development” or “Ecosystem service valuation”, and (2) undergraduate general education courses in “Ecological Diversity” and the related areas. Applicants who can teach the following graduate level courses are preferred: Human Dimension in Biodiversity, Ecosystem Service and Sustainability, Economic Analysis in Biodiversity, Ecological Economy, and Conservation Governance.

MPB is an English-taught interdisciplinary program which is newly approved by the Ministry of Education in Taiwan in 2020. This program concentrates on Biodiversity Science, as well as Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainability. It aims to cultivate global talents with competences in biodiversity management.

2.Documents required for application include:

(1)Curriculum Vitae including nationality, date of birth, education background, summary of research field, working experience, publication list and corresponding papers from the past seven years (published after August 1, 2014)
(2)A cover letter indicating a commensurate position (Project Assistant, Associate, or Professor) to be applied and designated representative paper (3 at most). The representative papers should be indexed in prominent international journals and published within the past five years (after August 1, 2016). For applicants applying as a Project Assistant Professor and who received their doctoral degree within the past three years (after August 1, 2018), their dissertation can be considered as the representative paper.
(3)Teaching plans (Please provide at least 4 course syllabus. Interdisciplinary co-lecturing is welcome.)
(4)Statement of past teaching experiences
(5)Certificate of a doctoral degree
(6)Contact information of three referees, including Name, Position/affiliation of referee, Tel, and Email.
