Percentage of employment will vary according to number of courses taught. Positions are limited duration appointments not to exceed one year without a further competitive search. DUTIES: Teach lecture courses on molecular, cell, and developmental biology, cancer, metabolism, epigenetics, stem cell biology, politics and ethics; biomedical ethics; plant development and plant environment interactions; and other topics as needed. Plan and coordinate discussion activities for multiple sections of courses; supervise course teaching assistants; manage the acquisition and maintenance of course materials; supervise student projects; and maintain office hours. QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. degree in the biological sciences; demonstrated experience in undergraduate teaching at the university level; experience with laboratory instruction in the biological sciences. Level of appointment and salary commensurate with qualifications, experience and duties. TERM OF APPOINTMENT: Fall 2022, Winter 2023 and/or Spring 2023 quarters. DEADLINE: The Department of Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology at UCLA maintains a pool of applicants for instructional positions.
