Applications are invited for the position of Chair, Department of Chemistry and Biology, in the Faculty of Science. This appointment will be for a term of three years, commencing July 1, 2019 with the possibility of renewal for up to two additional three-year terms.


The Chair will provide advocacy and leadership for the Department. The Chair will inspire the engagement of its members to maintain excellence in undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education teaching and to further enhance the development of the department’s programs. The Chair will facilitate a collegial, engaging, and interactive learning environment for all students, faculty, and staff. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in leadership in an academic environment, who possess good communication, organization, and delegation skills. A Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Biology or related field, is required. The successful candidate shall be a tenured faculty member. Teaching of current departmental courses is a requirement of the position.
