Duties and responsibilities:

• Provide statistical consultation (from planning to reporting) for research projects of students and staff members of the Faculty of Health Sciences.
• Teach research methodology and statistics to undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Inherent requirements:

Junior Lecturer:
• Honours degree on NQF level 8 in Mathematical Statistics or Statistics or closely related field.
• A good academic record.

• Master’s degree on NQF 9 in Mathematical Statistics or Statistics or closely related field.
• Proven experience in the delivery of poster or oral presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.
• Provide evidence of manuscripts produced that have the potential to be converted or submitted for publication in accredited journals.
• A good academic record.


Junior Lecturer:
• Willingness to enrol for masters' degree in Statistics at the first available opportunity, if not already done by time of the appointment.
• Background in research and publications.
• Experience in programming in SAS or other statistical packages.
• Knowledge of other SA language(s).

• Willing to enrol for a doctoral degree in Statistics at the first available opportunity, if not yet attained by the time of the appointment.
• Proven research record of relevant publications in national accredited journals.
• Member of or registration at a professional body.
• Member of a national or international scholarly society or committee.
• Experience in programming in SAS or other statistical packages.
• Knowledge of other SA language(s).
