Position Summary
Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) – Bloomington is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our physiology education mission beginning as early as January 1, 2024, in a full time, non-tenure track, Lecturer faculty appointment within the Department of Anatomy, Cell Biology & Physiology of the IU School of Medicine, and with job responsibilities located at the IUSM-Bloomington campus.

The successful candidate will participate in the teaching of human physiology to undergraduate (baccalaureate) students, in the P215 (Introduction to Physiology) and M131 (Disease and the Human Body) courses. Additional teaching opportunities for graduate students and medical students may be available. In addition, and with appropriate time and mentorship, the candidate will be encouraged to develop and teach novel baccalaureate or graduate level physiology courses. We seek candidates who have experience teaching diverse populations of undergraduate students by creating inclusive classrooms and by utilizing innovative pedagogy.

IU School of Medicine is the largest medical school in the country with more than 20,000 living alumni and 3,000 learners on nine campuses across the state. Its diverse faculty is made up of more than 2,900 full-time members and over 3,700 volunteer faculty who are responsible for training medical, graduate and postgraduate students. IU School of Medicine is the only allopathic medical school in Indiana.

IUSM-Bloomington fosters strong collaboration among investigators through centers, institutes, and groups that reach across departments, schools, and campuses. The research interests of its faculty are broad and include molecular and cellular biology, genetics and epigenetics, cancer biology, and medical education. With a shared interest in understanding the relationship between structure and function in health and human disease, these groups provide research opportunities for undergraduates, medical and graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows.

Basic Qualifications
MS in anatomy, physiology, science education, or a relevant science-related field.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching of human physiology.
