(Level B) $100,933 to $119,391 per annum or (Level C) $123,075 to $141,537 per annum plus an employer contribution of up to 17% superannuation may apply

Full-time, three-year fixed term (teaching and research) position available with the possibility of extension, subject to funding availability and performance

An academic opportunity exists for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer with experience in Physiology teaching and research to join the newly established School of Biomedicine.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating physiology courses across the undergraduate programs in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences as well as being a contributor to future program development.

We are seeking an applicant who can demonstrate a significant role in research and has the ability to contribute to strengthening the research standing of the School of Biomedicine.

To be successful at Level B you will need: 

  • A PhD in the relevant discipline, or have equivalent qualifications and/or research experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the conduct of lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops and clinical sessions.
  • Course coordination of large courses (>100 students) and the management of teaching and learning resources and staffing.
  • Demonstrated experience in innovative teaching methods and curriculum development in the area of physiology.
  • Strong research interests with demonstrated ability for cross disciplinary research and collaboration.

In addition to the above, to be successful at Level C you will need: 

  • Extensive experience in course and program coordination, curriculum design, implementation (>100 students) and the delivery of high-quality student-centered learning at an undergraduate level, that includes the capacity to incorporate new technologies and new approaches to teaching and learning. 
  • Supervision of the program of study of honours students and postgraduate students engaged in coursework.
  • Strong record of  publications, including papers in leading international journals and/or invited presentation at international conferences.
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of successful proposal submissions to external funding bodies and overseeing and managing grants received.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading major research projects and research teams.
