The Project Regulation of Pattern Scaling in Plant Stem Cell Niches at the Center for Plant Molecular Biology, University of Tübingen, Germany is offering a position as a 

PhD Student (m/f/d, E13 TV-L, 65%)

Starting date: flexible, but as early as December 1, 2026

Duration: 4 years, including an initial six-months probationary period

Salary: At the 65% E13 level in accordance to the guidelines of the University of Tübingen and will dependent on previous experience and qualifications.

Project Description: The project aims to uncover the principles coordinating stem cell niche patterning with size, using maize as a model. The project combines quantitative imaging and developmental genetics with single cell and spatial transcriptomics, offering hands-on training in cutting-edge techniques. The candidate will be working in an international environment and will interact with maize researchers across Germany as part of the Cereal Stem Cells Systems Consortium

Requirements: Self-motivated, creative, team member, background in Developmental Genetics, Molecular or Cellular Biology. Experience with maize and/or use of genomics tools is advantageous.
