Postdoctoral Research Associate - Biomolecular interactions of pollutants

We are looking for a motivated postdoctoral Research Associate to drive a multi-disciplinary project at the MRC Toxicology Unit, University of Cambridge. The goal of the project is to identify molecular targets in networks altered by food-borne pollutants like pesticides. The project will start with large-scale analysis of the effects of commonly found environmental pollutants using a multi-scale bioassay approach. This will be followed with functional genomics and biochemical approaches to identify the mechanisms by which the pollutants impact cell physiology.

Applicants must hold, or be close to completing, a PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g. Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or Microbiology). The post will be ideal for a candidate with experience in high-throughput cellular or biochemical techniques and/or multi-omics analyses. Familiarity with and conceptual understanding of the statistical analysis of large-scale data is desirable. We are particularly interested in candidates with the ambition for driving their own project and enthusiasm for working in a multi-disciplinary environment.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to use the state-of-art facilities and expertise of the MRC Toxicology Unit, including in the areas of mass-spectrometry, epigenetics, immunology, and bioinformatics.

The MRC Toxicology Unit is an internationally renowned institution focused on the delivery of field-changing mechanistic insights into toxicology and disease. Further information on the MRC Toxicology Unit can be found at (
