Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L/100% to be filled. Starting date is 10/1/2026. The position is limited to 3 years with the possibility of a 3 year extension. The full-time position should be filled by October 1, 2026 (no later than November 2026) subject to the final funding approval. The salary is in accordance with the German public service salary scale (TV-L E13) with 100%, which corresponds to 39.8 working hours per week. The contract will be for three years and may be extended for an additional three years. The position involves both the scientific coordination of the AgRe-Lab project and conducting research in collaboration with AgRe-Lab partners. We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with strong communication and organizational skills. Applicants must hold a completed university degree (Master’s degree) and hold a PhD or are about to complete their PhD in agricultural sciences (e.g. agricultural economics, agricultural policy, agroecology), sociology, geography, ecology, or another discipline related to the social-ecological research of agricultural systems. Candidates with a proven track record of interdisciplinary, and ideally transdisciplinary, research using participatory approaches in Living Lab contexts, combined with a strong conceptual understanding of agricultural landscapes as socio-ecological systems, will be viewed favourably. Fluency in written and spoken German and English is required, together with an excellent publication record. The successful candidate will have proven experience in supervising Master's and Bachelor's theses, together with a demonstrated commitment to scientific outreach and communication. Experience with spatial analyses using QGIS, participatory mapping, or R, as well as qualitative and quantitative social science research methods, will be considered an asset. A valid Class B driving licence is required. A strong willingness to travel for field work and spend time at the Living Labs is essential.
