The Heterogeneous Catalysis & Sustainable Chemistry group, which is part of the Research Priority Area Sustainable Chemistry at the Van ‘t Hoff Institute for Molecular Sciences of the Faculty of Science, is looking for a talented and dedicated researcher to join a challenging project on state-of-the-art biobased composites. This project, funded by the Netherlands Innovation Authority, is part of the public-private consortium on Biobased REsin CompoSIte Technologies (BRECSIT). You will be appointed as a postdoctoral researcher in a fixed-term contract.
 

What are you going to do?

The BRECSIT project centres on the preparation and testing of biobased composites, building on the discovery and invention of a biobased polymer in our group. Your work includes synthesis, analysis and testing of biobased composites and their recyclability and biodegradation under various conditions.
 

What do we require?

  • A PhD in either Chemical Engineering or Chemistry;
  • at least four papers in peer-reviewed international journals in English;
  • excellent communication skills in oral and written English;
  • proven experience in polymer or composite chemistry is preferred;
  • previous postdoctoral experience in similar environments is an advantage.

 

Our offer

We offer a temporary contract for 38 hours per week for the duration of 12 months. The salary, depending on relevant experience before the beginning of the employment contract, will be €2,709 to €4,274 (scale 10) gross per month, based on fulltime (38 hours a week). These amounts are exclusive 8 % holiday allowance and 8,3 % end-of-year bonus. A favorable tax agreement, the ‘30% ruling’, may apply to non-Dutch applicants.
