Dr. Yongsheng Shi in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, UC Irvine School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a post-doctoral position to study mammalian mRNA alternative polyadenylation and its regulation in stem cells.


The lab uses biochemical and proteomic approaches to analyze the molecular mechanisms of mRNA 3’ processing (Chan et al (2014) Genes & Dev.; Zhu et al (2018) Mol Cell). They also apply genomic tools and study alternative polyadenylation in stem cells and somatic reprogramming (Lackford et al (2014) EMBO J.; Brumbaugh et al (2018) Cell).


The successful candidate will be highly motivated with a recent Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related fields.
