Position The Department of Veterinary Sciences seeks a doctoral scholarship holder at the interface of neurology and hematology. Key responsibilities include: Preparation of a PhD thesis in translational ischemic stroke research, focusing on the role of immunothrombosis in brain injury and disease progression. Work with innovative humanized mouse models and patient samples to understand thrombosis-immune interactions after stroke. Integration into a multidisciplinary research environment within the Laboratory of Cell Biology and Histology (CBH). Collaboration with the Antwerp Centre for Advanced Microscopy (ACAM), providing access to advanced imaging and microscopy infrastructure. Publication of high-quality scientific articles and presentation of research at national and international conferences. Limited teaching and research support tasks for the Laboratory of Cell Biology and Histology. Profile Applicants should meet the following criteria: Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, Bio-engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Veterinary Sciences, or an equivalent degree (or completion by the start date).
