Professor of Bacterial Biofilms and Chronic Infections (Part-Time, 50%)Department of Immunology and Microbiology The University seeks to appoint a part-time (50%) professor of bacterial biofilms and chronic infections to the Costerton Biofilm Center, Department of Immunology and Microbiology to commence as soon as possible. Job description When considering applications for the professorship, the main emphasis will be on the applicant's ability to document a high level of original scientific work at an international level within the area of chronic infections with special emphasis on the development, diagnosis and management of bacterial biofilms, and within the microenvironment of chronic infections. The applicant should document original work on infection biology including advanced microscopy and gene expression analyses of samples from human infections. The applicant should have a wide experience with both human clinical research and experimental models within the field. Application procedure After the expiry of the deadline for applications, the authorized recruitment manager selects applicants for assessment on the advice of the Appointments Committee.
