The Opportunity

The Research Assistant / Research Fellow will work on an exciting new project investigating Helicobacter pylori antibiotic resistance and virulence mechanisms as part of an NHMRC-funded research grant. The appointee will be supervised by a senior post-doctoral scientist and the lab head, and is expected to collaborate closely with other team members.

The Research Assistant / Research Fellow will be responsible for the conduct of research under limited supervision either as a member of a team or, where appropriate, independently and the production or contribution to the production of conference and seminar papers and publications from that research. Clear, thorough and accurate documentation of relevant experimental details and research findings will be required.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience with molecular cloning, recombinant DNA technology and bacterial mutagenesis. Solid experience with the handling and mutagenesis of Helicobacter pylori is highly desirable.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
