The Balasubramanian group seeks a postdoctoral chemical biologist to investigate the role of G-quadruplex DNA secondary structures and natural chemical modifications to DNA bases. In particular, the successful applicant will play a key role in developing novel epigenetic and DNA structure engineering technologies to explore how the chemistry and structure of nucleic acids structure influences oncogenesis.

The candidate will have a strong background in organic chemistry as applied to nucleic acids and in the use of chemical biology with genome editing methods in cells. We are particularly interested in applicants who have proven experience in the use of chemical approaches for sequence-specific DNA targeting to manipulate gene expression. We seek a highly-motivated individual with excellent communication skills and who is able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
