The Opportunity

The Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, is the largest faculty at Monash University, and, where you will find the impressive Arumugam Lab. The Arumugam laboratory focuses on fundamental questions in intracellular trafficking and their role in cell fate specification and pattern formation in development using LLSM and MOSAIC

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and talented Research Fellow to join the Arumugam Laboratory and establish, execute and perform experimental techniques relating to super-resolution, light-sheet microscopy and advanced fluorescence techniques including lifetimes and anisotropy. The problems that these techniques will address are endosomal trafficking and self-organisation in biology.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Optical physics or Biology, from a recognised university with subsequent relevant experience in experimental research with an emphasis on advanced microscopy, cell biology and /or biophysics. Operating with a focus on excellence in process and judgment, the Research Fellow will demonstrate knowledge of advanced fluorescence-based techniques, cell and tissue level biology including model organisms and organoids, focussing on problems in diseases and developmental biology.
