Spatio-chromatic stimulating devices will be developed  and used in both behavioural trials and two-photon imaging. The aim will be to investigate the retinal and tectal neural circuits involved in established set of chromatic-dependent behaviours. Advanced 2-photon neuronal data analysis and machine learning algorithms will be used and demonstrated previous experience in these fields will be essential.

Applicants must have research experience in visual neuroscience and analysis of neural circuits. Experience in hardware development, Python, microPython and C++ programming will also be a distinct advantage. More about the laboratory and our previous work can be found at  Informal enquiries are encouraged and should be made to Tom Baden (

We are a very active research group located in the Neuroscience Centre, which also houses a number of other groups using imaging and electrophysiology to study neural circuits involved in sensory processing ( The School of Life Sciences is at the forefront of research in the biological sciences in the UK, coming 8th in the REF 2014.
