Shrum Chair in Biological Mechanisms of Disease at Simon Fraser University

The Gordon M. Shrum Chair in Science, named after the founding chancellor of Simon Fraser University, provides an opportunity for outstanding scientists to advance their careers to the next level at Canada’s top comprehensive university.

The Faculty of Science seeks an established scientist to fill the Shrum Chair for a 5 year term, renewable. We seek a leader in an emerging, transformative and interdisciplinary area of life sciences research who will complement SFU’s research strengths. The successful candidate will join a vibrant community of life scientists, across multiple Departments and Faculties, whose research stretches from fundamental to translational. S/he will enjoy access to exceptional research facilities, both computational and experimental. We expect that the Chair will play a leadership role in bridging existing research strengths in molecular, cellular, and systems-level biomedical science at SFU and with partner institutions. The successful applicant will also contribute to the teaching mission of their home department. Check here for information on research in the Faculty of Science at SFU.
