Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Nano- and Microrobotics

At the Technical University of Munich (TUM) the position as Tenure Track Assistant Professor for "Nano- and Microrobotics" in grade W2 (limited to 6 years, with tenure track on W3) for the summer semester 2020 is to be filled. The professorship is funded by the Bund-Länder-Program for the Promotion of Young Scientists (Tenure Track Program).


Scientific environment

The professorship is assigned to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and anchored in the Munich School of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MSRM).



The tasks include research and teaching as well as support and promotion of young scientists. We are looking for an expert in the field of nano- and microrobotics with a focus on highly integrated, miniaturized machines with intelligent actuators and sensors as well as the development of a maximum holistic integration through miniaturized electronics, communication technologies and nanosensors. Possible field of application is biomedicine. One of the tasks in teaching is participation in the bachelor and master programs of the TUM.



We are looking for a personality with the first scientific achievements and the potential to develop an independent research program at the highest international level. A university degree, an above-average doctorate, or a comparable ability to do scientific work, special pedagogical aptitude, including the ability to teach in English, are also required. International research experience is expected.
